Pride and Prejudice - Masterpiece of Language and Love
I can't wait to jot down my emotion after watching Price and Prejudice, the remarkable reputation has been recognized across England for more than 300 years. Despite my great effort in reading the novel, I still incapable of understanding every single word within it since my poor vocabulary. I made up my mind that I would go for the movie first, then return and indulge in the novel later on.
The movie is prodigious, spectacular and nostalgic. Kiera never fails to overwhelm me with her charming 18th-century elegance, her soft and delicate British accent, her extraordinary performance. But in this article, I will squander my compliment for Matthew, the passionate, proud, unagreeable man and his vigorous affection for Elizabeth Bennet. Playing the role that can evoke the audience's emotion is tough especially when it comes to such sophisticated characters like Mr. Darcy.
Besieging around the circle of inferiority and dignity, fortune, whether intentionally or unconsciously, detach the young couple apart. So much engrossed in love, but they are managed to lock the love inside the cage of self-dignity. But the eyes never tell lie, at least, that's what I feel when observing Darcy's tempting glance at Elizabeth. Love is not always about delivering the sweet speech, more than that, it encompasses sacrifice, bitterness, gratitude, and passion. That stare exposed the fervent admiration, the tribulation of a heart, the reticence of sincerity, the intrepidity of confronting prejudice and pride.
Jane is a master of words, all the vocabulary used in this masterpiece is not easily comprehensible especially to the foreign reader like I did. Despite my previous and limited range of vocabulary, the enlightenment about the beauty of English just sheds on me. If you fancy language and English, Pride and Prejudice probably should be located at your first reading list.
Every single word used simply vitalizes the British prance, manner with a high degree of politeness and solemn. The country's literature portraits its people as the closest and the most honest reflection. The higher the laud for British discipline and politeness, the more lament feeling crashed into our hearts. The stereotype decries could embark on the series of un-fortune for the entire family. That Jane - the eldest sister marries to the fortunate guy with high social rank, could enforce the following-up daughters engaging with an agreeable, decent guy. Or if Lydia hadn't been discovered, the rest daughters of the Bennet family would have ended up in tragedy and loneliness. Why and how could our life and our personality be determined by other siblings? That 27 years-old girl detains at parent's house terrifies young ladies at that time, settling down and homing is desirable and first priority regardless of the life-mate.
After all, I would regard "Pride and Prejudice" as the rendition of language and love. There is no common frame for love, it comes and happens naturally.
